This fast-growing brassica thrives in warm, transition, and cool seasons with exceptional heat, cold, and drought tolerance. Plant in spring, fall, or winter when nighttime temperatures stay below 65°F for germination in 5–7 days under ideal conditions. Reaches 2–4 feet tall in full sun (6–8 hours daily). Germination will occur when soil temperatures reach 65 - 70 degrees. It can be planted in spring in the Northern states above the "line" of West Virginia to Missouri. Planting in the spring in the southern and lower northern states will shorten crop life due to summer heat. Northern planting may see a shortened crop life if hard freezes are experienced. Rape food plots will not survive summer heat or hard freezes. Note: Rape becomes more attractive to deer after a frost because the sugar content will become more concentrated.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0550/0351/3041/files/tf3EjsmDEtAy8oXYDkVv05LUnz8KkU8aGrGN3VqA.jpg?v=1792599866
