Suggested tightening torque for a standard fitting using one thread seal material is 80lbf-in inch pounds for the 3/4” FPT threads. To avoid the female threads to crack over time, user should finger tighten the fitting, then add one or two turns, no more. This torque is a lot less than that apply to metal NPT threads.
