Don't let anyone tell you that there is a better Dwarf Indian Hawthorne on the market. Since the early 1980's we've tried them all and Snow White stands out as the most hardy and reliable of all Raphiolepis. It's a great alternative to azaleas where there's too much sun. The olive green foliage becomes covered in pure white flowers during spring and new growth is an attractive reddish-bronze color. Flowers are followed by attractive black berries enjoyed by birds. We've seen no serious problems with leaf spot in the South and humid regions...and we can't say that about too many other other varieties. Even if leaf spot occurs plants usually recover very well in a short period of time. Snow White keeps its low, dense form with no pruning or shearing and has tolerated temperatures below 5 degrees F in our gardens with no damage at all.
