Chain Saw and Bar Gauge Measurement

There are two different gauge measurements that you need to know when looking for your bar and chain. Pictured below (fig. a) is a drive link and a reference to how the gauge is determined. The thickness of the drive link will determine the gauge of chain you have. Also shown (fig. b) is a bar groove where the chain rides on, in the bar. This is where you will find the bar gauge. Here are some quick references you can use when determining the gauge you need.
